If they don't sign Matthews before July 1, he will be offer-sheeted. There is ZERO question of this.

The offers will be north of 14. Remember San Jose was willing to pay 13 for Tavares. Montreal and/or Arizona, and probably more, would pay 14 for him, and spend months in a perpetual state of champagne drunkeness if they got him.

Even at 14, I think the Leafs match. He is, simply, a true franchise player.

Marner may also be a target if he puts up big numbers. I suspect 10-11 will be his sheet, and the Leafs will match.

Therefore, You can count Gardiner, Hainsey, Nylander, and Marleau (if at all possible) will be gone.

For Matthews ???

Wait til the end of the Season. If we are seeing now what Marner could do, a team(s) would pay that for him also.

Nobody likes offersheets, but for players of that calibre, teams will do it.

You are really high on these offer sheets eh. I feel like your last 20 messages on here have been regarding that. Lets hope you're wrong!

I feel both will be signed before July 1st. They are waiting for the season to be done with, let their play do the talking. Once the season is over the talks will begin and it'll be settled before July 1st. That's just my opinion.

One of my good friends is cousins with Marner and they hangout quite a bit. I'll try and get some insider scoop!

A contender might if they felt it would cement them into the playoffs for the next decade. Four 24-28 picks would allow many GMs to strongly consider it.

Mathews's is from Arizona, and I read somewhere they're contenders...

A team like SJ could possibly give up theirs. Considering they would all likely be really late 1st round picks. But if they do sign Karlsson I doubt they would be able to so let's hope they sign Karlsson instead!

Edit: Since SJ gave up hardly anything for Karlsson in that trade. I bet they're more than okay with letting Karlsson walk and sign elsewhere and try to get Matthews instead. He's more of a need than Karlsson is. SJ already has a solid D core without EK

How many contenders have 14 mil cao space laying around?

I can't see a GM giving up 4 1st round picks for anyone.

They couldn't, they don't have next years first round pick, and possibly beyond that. But I agree with the larger point!

Darnell Nurse is a tire fire (Not the only one). I don't understand how he gets into so many trade proposals from Leafs fans.

I picked up RNH late in my pool thinking he'd rack up points on MCD's wing. So far not so good.

EDIT: HA i jinxed it! But he's benched

Been listening to the radio a lot recently. While I know a lot of these guys are idiots, I think they have good points and Matthews is a truly special talent, Marner might be also.

... and I hope I am wrong also. I wish these guys would get signed. It is like a wet-blanket on the season so far.
